Adam Sandler and actor Kevin James showed their new film to the leaders of American gay rights groups to make sure the release wouldn’t reap protests. In “I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry” the actors perform fire fighters who pretend to be a gay couple so they can get domestic partner benefits. In order to avoid offending anyone, they shared the film first for the gay community. James says, “We screened it for GLAAD because we certainly didn’t want to offend anybody in any way. The main reason of this movie is really just to make people laugh and that’s all we wanted to do”. “When you pick a subject like this, you’re honestly gonna have to walk that line and you want to show what it’s like out there.”
Sandler to star in a Disney Comedy - 2007-04-11
Adam Sandler will star Bedtime Stories, a family comedy film with the direction of Adam Shankman (Haispray, The Pacifier, Bringing Down the House). This will be Sandler's return to comedy after going dramatic in Reign Over Me. The movie is about a stressed-out real estate developer whose world goes chaotic when the stories he makes up for his niece and nephew begin to come true. It is expected to hit theaters in 2008 according to Disney reports.
